I’m the heart behind Travels By Yvonne and someone who believes that the best trips are the ones that feel personal, well-paced, and thoughtfully cared for. I was born and raised in Germany, lived in Ireland, and eventually made my home in Northern Virginia, and each chapter of my life has shaped how I design travel today.

A Life Shaped by Travel

Travel has always been part of my story. I grew up exploring Europe’s cities, countryside, and coastlines, learning early on that meaningful travel is less about rushing from place to place and more about how a destination makes you feel. Over the years, my curiosity has taken me through Southeast Asia, across the water on river and ocean cruises, and into conversations with guides, chefs, hoteliers, and local partners who bring destinations to life in ways you can’t find online.

Those relationships and experiences are the foundation of the itineraries I design. They’re the reason my clients get to enjoy smoother days, better recommendations, and moments that feel authentic rather than prepackaged.

Traveling as a Mom of Two

As a mother of two young boys, I understand what it means to plan a trip that works for everyone. I know the realities of packing, pacing, long flights, and managing energy levels, and I know how important it is to create space for connection while still keeping things easy. This firsthand experience helps me design family and multigenerational trips that feel comfortable, joyful, and relaxed, with thoughtful details that keep the whole journey running smoothly.
